Do I need to use an Inhibited Glycol?
If you are experiencing excessive corrosion due to the water conditions you may consider using a corrosion inhibited glycol product. If you have an all stainless steel system, you do not need a corrosion inhibited glycol product, just use a standard propylene glycol product.
What is the difference between a USP grade Inhibited Glycol and Inhibited Glycol?
USP grade Inhibited Glycol is approved for use in Food and Beverage facilities where the glycol may contact the final produced product. You must use a USP grade product in Food and Beverage facilities.
Our standard Inhibited Propylene Glycol may used in none Food and Beverage facilities.
What brands of USP grade Inhibited Glycol are there?
Dowfrost manufactured by Dow Chemical and JeffCool manufactured by Huntsman. If you have a preference, please let us know and we can provide either one.
What is the difference between Ethylene Glycol and Propylene Glycol?
These are different chemicals. Ethylene Glycol can not be used in Food and Beverage facilities. Ethylene Glycol is less expensive then Propylene Glycol, but is much more hazardous. For this reason not many facilities use Ethylene Products any more.
Why would I want to use a Pink Fluorescence in my glycol?
This allows for ease of identification that the fluid is not water.
